Qualifications:
Completed a BA in English and History and a Masters in Government in University College Cork.
Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning, Publishing Training Centre (PTC).
Proofreading 2: Progress, Society for Editors & Proofreaders (SfEP).
Currently enrolled on the SfEP Mentoring programme.

Experience:
Freelance since 2012, working with companies such as Irish Academic Press, Merrion Press, The Educational Company of Ireland (EDCO), Carlton Kids, and many others.
Experience with manuscript evaluation and structural editing.
Copy-edited and proofread over 40 books, both fiction and non-fiction.
Fiction writer with a published children’s book.

Work Undertaken:
Fiction & non-fiction: copy-editing and proofreading.
Academia: copy-editing and proofreading on a wide variety of topics including history, politics, arts and media studies. Substantive editing of Master’s dissertations.
Copy-editing, proofreading and rewriting (on-screen and hard copy) of research reports, web articles; writing and researching content for feature articles, newsletters, leaflets and advertising features.
